Slack
integrationRead conversations, reply, react, and share code with your Slack bot
Connect your own Slack app to read channel and thread history and attached files, review feedback, send replies, and add or remove the bot's reactions. Share inline code, code blocks, and syntax-tagged snippet attachments. Works in conversations the bot can access. Writes appear as the bot, not your personal Slack account. Requires workspace app installation and scopes.

Get identity
Identify the selected Slack bot and its workspace. All writes appear as this bot.
Get user
Resolve a Slack message author's member ID to a name, without email addresses.
List channels
List a page of public/private Slack channels or bot DMs. Metadata is not proof of message access. Includes archived channels by default. Use next_cursor even on short pages.
Get channel
Read Slack channel metadata, membership and archive state by channel ID.
List threads
Discover thread parents with replies in ONE channel history page, including archived channels where Slack permits reads. Continue using cursors even if threads is empty. Not a workspace-wide or recently-active-thread index; old parents require older pages.
Get messages
Read one bounded Slack history page, newest first. Preserve timestamp strings. Use next_cursor, or next_latest when no cursor is returned. Thread replies need get_thread. Empty/limited history is not proof that no conversation occurred.
Get thread
Read a page of Slack thread messages, oldest first, using the parent's thread_ts. Includes the parent on the initial page. Use next_cursor or next_oldest to continue.
Get message
Read one Slack message or thread reply, including file metadata and reaction counts.
Get attachment
Read a requested Slack-hosted file by source channel, message timestamp and file_id. Rechecks message and file access. Copies readable files into this q5m chat for same-turn analysis; non-chat clients receive bounded document text (images need chat). Supports code/text of any extension and existing PDF/Office/image readers. Never executes files.
Send message
Send an explicitly user-approved message as the Slack bot, optionally in a thread. Supports inline backticks and triple-backtick code blocks using Slack mrkdwn, or plain text. Mention/link control markup is escaped; automatic mentions, unfurls and thread broadcast are disabled. Maximum 4,000 characters. Never blindly retry an uncertain send.
Send snippet
Upload user-approved UTF-8 code/text as a Slack snippet attachment, optionally in a thread. Supply literal content, filename and Slack snippet_type (e.g. python, javascript, text). Preserves bytes and indentation; never runs code. Maximum 1,000,000 UTF-8 bytes. Uses Slack's external-upload API, not deprecated files.upload. No URLs or local paths.
Add reaction
Add the selected Slack bot's reaction, only on explicit user instruction.
Remove reaction
Remove only the selected Slack bot's own reaction, on explicit user instruction.
